The Budding Entrepreneur

Ateneo de Manila University

2013 to 2017

Fresh from high school, Ashley started her journey knowing nothing of herself but that she loved the idea of creating a business and seeing it flourish. To her surprise, she got accepted in a top University in the Philippines, where she earned her Bachelor’s in Business Management with a minor degree in International Business. While taking her studies, Ashley created a start-up. A small online store that sold and delivered pet supplies. By the time she graduated, her business grew, and she was able to develop a brick and mortar pet store which she managed full-time.

The Marketing Maker

Design Publications, Inc

2017 to 2019

A few years into seeing her business grow, Ashley realized that being an entrepreneur was not for her. She much more loved creating the brand and strategizing marketing techniques for the business than running it. She decided to say goodbye to her first ever business venture and dove into the world of Marketing headfirst. She landed a job as a Digital Marketing Director for Design Publications, Inc. in Quezon City. It was here that she built and managed multiple social media accounts and websites.

She got a taste of content creation and agency culture.

Ashley was also invited to write travel articles for one of their leisure publications "Home Ideas: Lifestyle". She traveled and learned of different cultures. She began to want more.

The Starving Artist

Toronto, Ontario

2019 to Present

It was mid-2019 when Ashley decided to take the leap. She booked a one-way ticket to Canada, where she enrolled in a Graphics and Interactive Media program in Toronto Film School. Despite the harsh winter, Ashley felt like she was home for the first time. During her full-time studies, Ashley worked as a free lance designer and an Art Director for a cosmetics company.

After completing her graphics program with honors, she knew exactly what she was meant to do. She endeavored to find a marriage between her business experience and her newfound love for graphic creation. Her solution was to enroll into Seneca College where she studied Creative Advertising. It was here that she found that becoming an Art Director was the obvious career path for her.
